Interim Head of Contract Management

The Organisation
Nigel Wright Group has been appointed to support a well established Public Sector organisation with the appointment of an interim Head of Contract Management to cover a secondment through to March 2026.

The opportunity would suit a Head of Contract Management with experience from within Public/Utilities Sector with a proven track record in designing and implementing end to end contract management systems, policies and processes.

The interim Head of Contract Management will need to be office-based in the Newcastle upon Tyne area at least 2-3 days, fortnightly.

The Opportunity
The interim Head of Contract Management will design and implement a robust end to end contract management system, drafting process, producing tool kits and templates whilst supporting, guiding and upskilling both the Contract Management Teams and internal stakeholder groups, advising and educating as to contract management best practice.
They will review the current contract portfolio to ascertain and mitigate risk, identify opportunities for renegotiation.
About You
The interim Head of Contract Management will have/be:

• Proven track record of overseeing Contract Management at Head of level with Public Sector/Regulated Sector
• Experienced in developing and implementing best practice, new systems – continuous improvement mindset
• Supportive, inspiring leader and mentor, able to adopt a hands on approach
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, influencing and relationship building skills
• Subject matter expert in Contract Management with an in-depth knowledge of PCR15 or UCR16 and PA23
• Able to work on site in the Newcastle upon Tyne area at least 2-3 days, fortnightly
