Rapidly growing outfit in the digital sector are hiring an Interim Legal Director for a period of 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave. This role is based in Central London with two days per week required in the office.

Reporting into the General Counsel, the postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a small team of lawyers. The business is enjoying a rapid period of growth across a wide variety of territories and the team in London is responsible for delivering legal services on a global basis. As well as leading the team, you will also have the opportunity to get involved in some of the more complex commercial deals (although you will also need to possess the willingness to step in an assist the team on more routine matters when workflow dictates).

This role requires a qualified lawyer with at least 10 years’ PQE (the more experience, the better), although applications from all levels will be considered on merit. Some prior experience managing legal staff would be a significant advantage. A background as an in-house lawyer in the creative sectors (eg, media, advertising, marketing, retail etc) would be particularly helpful. And whilst interest from candidates coming from more regulated sectors (eg, financial services) will be considered, it isn’t seen as ideally suited to this particular remit. The legal team has an excellent reputation for providing commercially-focused advice to assist the business in moving ideas and strategies forward, so you must be someone who is able to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.

This role requires someone who can start immediately. Unfortunately individuals with a notice period of more than one week cannot be considered.
