Interim Strategic Procurement Manager

This role is for an Interim Strategic Procurement Manager in the public sector, specifically in the Procurement & Supply Chain department. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing procurement strategies and supply chain operations within the council.

Description

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans
• Manage and optimise supply chain operations
• Lead negotiations with suppliers and vendors
• Ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations
• Manage risk within the supply chain
• Implement cost saving and process improvement strategies
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders on procurement needs
• Provide procurement and supply chain expertise to the council

Profile

A successful Interim Strategic Procurement Manager should have:

• A degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Prior experience in strategic procurement and supply chain management
• Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage relationships with suppliers
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
