Job Description - Internal Account Manager

Corporate Internal Account Manager
  • Location: Birmingham, B1
  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
  • Salary: £25,000 per annum + £5000 commission
  • 5 days a week in the office for new starters. This then reduces based on performance

We are seeking a Corporate Internal Account Manager to join our dynamic team at a leading workplace equipment supplier in Birmingham. This B2B role is perfect for someone who is passionate about delivering high-level service and increasing sales through effective account management and proactive telesales. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing new business, maximising sales opportunities, and building long-term customer relationships.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop new business through prospecting and switch activities and identify opportunities to quote and send proposals on the same day.
  • Increase the product range sold to each customer and maximise the 'share of wallet' by becoming a preferred supplier.
  • Support marketing campaigns and outbound promotions to maximise take-up.
  • Achieve sales targets, including initial gross profit margins and sales growth on existing accounts.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and utilise sales tools provided to maximise the full potential and spend of each customer.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, resolve queries and complaints through first contact resolution, and support the wider team with on-the-day queries.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as required and actively participate in team meetings and projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in sales and account management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an excellent telephone manner.
  • Ability to multitask, organise, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability to change and ability to work under pressure.
  • Sound knowledge of customer base, customer needs, and sales cycle is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of product, competitor, and dealer network is desirable.
  • GCSE in English at grade C or equivalent.
  • At least one year’s experience in customer service, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
