Internal Auditor

Internal Audit opportunity exists within one of the Insurance industry’s leading specialists’ services businesses.
This is a new role within the organisation, with them having relied of external consulting services to date, so a perfect setting for an experienced internal auditor to develop a function and grow with the business.
The purpose of the role will be to deliver independent, objective assurance and advisory services that evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance.
You will provide an internal audit service and assurance that protects for the business in terms of its operational integrity, fiduciary responsibilities and regulatory compliance, your audits will cover key business areas including finance, client onboarding, AML, compliance, and operational risk, whilst ensuring professional compliance and best practice with Lloyd’s standards and the Financial Conduct Authority.
Day to day activities will include

• The drafting and presentation of internal audit and thematic review programmes to evaluate the effectiveness of controls, risk management systems and operational processes
• Giving independent and objective assessments of the organisation’s operations, reporting, and internal controls.
• Lead and manage internal audits across a range of operational areas including risk, compliance, onboarding/KYC, finance, banking controls, AML compliance, and others
• Test the effectiveness of internal controls and identify opportunities for improvement to run through the enhancement programme
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Deliver insightful reports with clear recommendations that help the firm mitigate risk and boost efficiency.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the firm to gain buy-in and drive positive

The successful candidate will be an finance services industry qualified Internal Auditor (ACA/ACCA/CIA), with demonstrable exposure to planning, leading and executing internal audits within the financial services industry, this will have given you an excellent understanding of FCA requirements and AML regulation.
