Job Description - Internal Functionality Lead QA Vacancy

We have a newl opportunity for a new Lead QA.

This is open only to existing Liverpool staff and would be on the respective GMT shifts.

This in an internal vacancy, applicants must be currently be working for US.

Key Responsibilities

·       Liaising directly with clients to understand and relay their test needs and respond with progress updates and required information.

·       Applying the Universally Speaking test process (or client’s variation) through the whole project’s lifecycle.

·       Performing vetting of bugs before submission to client in order to reduce mistakes.

·       Daily assigning of tasks to testers within the scope of projects being delivered.

·       Supervising and guiding creation of test scripts, cases, and other test artefacts as required.

·       Review, develop, and provide feedback to testers in your team, nurturing a productive and positive environment.

·       Provide PDPs at scheduled intervals to guide tester growth and provide clear feedback.

·       Work with other Leads as needed to drive coverage, quality, and responsiveness to testing and client needs.

·       Create End of Day Reports and other report materials as required by project to share with all stakeholders.

·       Ensure KPIs and other required data are accurate and compiled correctly.

·       Participate in test requirement gathering with developers to ensure appropriate coverage and build the understanding required to test the software properly.

·       Support the Project Manager in handling complex tasks and group activities as required.

·       Work with the Project Manager to ensure project is appropriately staffed each day.

·       Co-ordinate with the Project Manager and other stakeholders as required to present a united line of communications to clients.

·       Perform hands on testing to the set process, as and when required on a given project.

·       Work with your colleagues to overcome challenges faced day-to-day.

·       Coach and assist colleagues in best practice, improving overall performance for the team, ensuring fairness and consistency in your approach.

·       Ensure you and your team adhere to expected behaviours in line with company values, policies and procedures.

·       Ensure distribution sheets are correct daily and that the right equipment is provisioned for work to continue effectively.

·       Try new techniques and approaches as required to fulfil the set test requirement.

·       Provide feedback to your team and suggestions for improvements in the way we work, escalating where necessary.

·       Monitor for Health and Safety concerns in your environment and report where intervention is required.

·       Offer support to B&D team and processes by agreement.

Knowledge and Skills

·       Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.

·       Are passionate about video games.

·       Are a quick learner and highly adaptable.

·       Can apply leadership skills to guide and improve an organised team.

·       Are a team player, with the ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.

·       Are pro-active, tenacious, and enthusiastic.

·       Are capable of self-organising, taking on daily tasks without needing intervention.

·       Coaching and mentoring ability, able to help others progress and develop.

·       Are good with computers, be it Microsoft Office applications, online browsers and tools, mobile devices, or the latest games consoles.

·       Are reliable and able to maintain work to Universally Speaking’s best practices.

Measures of Performance

·       Client communications and observed client satisfaction with delivery.

·       Output test artefacts, data and reports from team being led.

·       Written quality, precision, and accuracy of relevant information provided in documentation.

·       Team working and communication.

·       Knowledge of QA workflow and techniques.

·       Outcomes of interventions and support within the team assigned.

·       Support of Project Management and other stakeholders as required.

While this job specification illustrates the fundamentals of the role, it is not exhaustive, and you may be asked from time to time adapt to challenges or take on additional responsibilities in line to ensure successful delivery of set projects.

 

Performance is measured on a twice-yearly basis via our PDP system, considering the points above, as well as conduct, behaviors and attendance to give a balanced overall review.

 

While infrequent, you may on occasion be asked to travel for the purposes of client meetings, events, or cross-site work, with immediately relevant costs to be covered by the business.
