This additional responsibility role is ideal for someone with a passion for English education who is ready to lead on curriculum development, support colleagues, and champion excellence in teaching and learning across the department.

Please note: Although this is a fixed-term post in the first instance, it represents a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable leadership experience and demonstrate your impact in a key curriculum area.

About the Role
As English Coordinator, you will take a lead in driving the development of our English curriculum and promoting a culture of high standards and creativity. You will work closely with the Head of Department and wider leadership team to ensure outstanding outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing development and delivery of an engaging, inclusive, and high-quality English curriculum.
• Provide mentoring and support to colleagues, sharing best practice and promoting consistency.
• Use data to evaluate student performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Drive initiatives that promote a love of reading, writing, and effective communication across the school.
• Contribute to the wider leadership of the English department, supporting strategic planning and development.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A proven track record of teaching English effectively in a secondary education setting.
• Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and pedagogy.
• Previous experience in a leadership or coordination role is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
• Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
