Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) – Health & Social Care Location: Home-based (North Wales) Salary: £31,000 - £35,000 per annum Contract: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 4:30pm
Our client is a leading training provider dedicated to delivering high-quality apprenticeship and vocational learning programmes across Wales. They are currently seeking an experienced Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to join their Health & Social Care team, supporting assessors across North Wales.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IQA or senior assessor looking to play a key role in maintaining and improving the quality of apprenticeship delivery while working from home with regular travel across the region.
The Role
As an Internal Quality Assurer, you will lead and support a team of Assessors, ensuring learners receive an outstanding learning experience while maintaining compliance with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements.
You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement across assessment practices, monitoring quality standards, and supporting assessors to achieve excellent learner outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and develop a team of Assessors to improve delivery standards. Carry out Internal Quality Assurance activities in line with awarding organisation requirements. Monitor assessor performance, providing coaching, feedback and development support. Complete sampling, verification and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance. Produce detailed IQA reports and action plans to drive continuous improvement. Support assessors in meeting apprenticeship framework requirements and quality standards. Ensure employers remain engaged throughout the learner journey. Monitor learner progress, achievement and satisfaction across programmes. Promote and embed Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety, Welsh Language and Culture, and sustainability throughout delivery. Prepare for and participate in External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits. Work closely with internal management teams to implement improvement plans and achieve performance targets.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential
Assessor qualification. Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification. Occupational competency within Health & Social Care. Experience delivering training, assessment or learner support. Strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards/frameworks and assessment methods. Excellent understanding of IQA processes and awarding organisation requirements. Knowledge of Estyn inspection expectations. Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. Desirable
Experience leading or mentoring a team of Assessors or IQAs. Experience coordinating External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits. Previous involvement in Estyn inspections.
