Internal Sales Engineer

Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a technically-minded Internal Sales Engineer to join a dynamic and growing engineering company. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills, who enjoys working closely with customers to provide tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to technical sales enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face.

• Interpret customer requirements and design costed solutions.

• Produce clear, accurate and competitive quotations/tenders.

• Follow up on quotes to secure profitable orders.

• Provide expert pre-sales technical support and product education.

• Process orders and liaise with internal teams to ensure timely delivery.

• Maintain up-to-date records of enquiries, quotes and customer activity.

• Build strong customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.

• Support Contracts, Engineering and Production teams as required.

• Attend occasional site visits.

Requirements:

• Technical background (engineering, electronics, or similar).

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Commercially aware with a proactive approach to customer service.

• Experience in a technical sales, internal sales, or applications engineer role.

• Knowledge of electrical components (advantageous).
