Job Description - Internal Sales Executive

Internal Sales Executive - B2B Metals Distribution

Salary: £28,000-£32,000 + Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm

Are you ready to bring your sales skills to a dynamic metals distribution business with a rich heritage and a strong reputation for delivering quality products and outstanding service? This is your chance to join a fast-paced, collaborative team where you’ll be at the heart of the action, handling customer orders, developing accounts, and making a real impact.

As an Internal Sales Executive, you’ll take full ownership of the customer journey—from initial contact to order processing and follow-up. You’ll be dealing with OEMs, subcontract engineering companies, and other industrial clients, ensuring they get the metals they need when they need them.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Handling inbound and outbound calls, emails, and faxes to take and process B2B orders efficiently
Proactively re-engaging lapsed accounts and identifying new business opportunities within key sectors
Negotiating pricing and terms with clients, ensuring profitable growth and excellent service
Using an ERP/stock system to manage sales and purchasing processes with precision
Building and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of industrial clients, acting as a trusted advisor
Collaborating with internal teams—including stock management, warehousing, and office administration—to deliver a seamless service
Following ISO 9001 quality management procedures to ensure accurate contract review and order fulfillment
Participating in team meetings, contributing ideas, and playing a key role in driving business growth

What We’re Looking For:

A proactive, results-oriented approach, with a focus on margin growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport over the phone and face-to-face
Solid business acumen, including an understanding of turnover, gross margin, and cost management
Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, ERP systems) - a fast learner with a keen eye for detail
A team player with a positive, enthusiastic attitude and a strong commitment to delivering for clients
