Our client is a well-established and highly respected supplier to the shipping and offshore industry. As part of the continued expansion of their sales team, they are now looking to recruit an Internal Sales Executive to join their busy and customer-focused operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, managing enquiries and quotes, and taking ownership of the sales process from initial request through to fulfilment.
Working closely with the Sales Manager, Sales Team and internal departments, you will play an important role in ensuring customers receive a first-class service while supporting the commercial success and profitability of the business.
The Role
As an Internal Sales Executive, you will be responsible for handling customer enquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders and maintaining regular communication with customers throughout the process.
You will also work closely with suppliers and internal departments to source products, manage pricing and ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and commercially.
The role would suit someone who is commercially minded, highly organised and confident dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to customer enquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner. Prepare and process customer quotations and sales orders. Take ownership of customer orders from initial enquiry through to fulfilment. Maintain regular communication with customers and provide a consistently high level of service. Liaise with warehouse and operational teams to ensure the correct products are delivered to the right place at the right time. Source and procure non-stock items through the company's established supplier network. Obtain the best possible pricing while ensuring required margins are maintained. Process sales orders, purchase orders and sales return orders accurately. Ensure all customer and supplier information is correctly recorded within the CRM and finance systems. Maintain accurate records and audit trails in line with company procedures. Liaise with internal departments to resolve customer requests and ensure orders are completed efficiently. Support the wider sales team and provide departmental cover where required. Use initiative and sound judgement to identify solutions to customer and operational challenges. Contribute positively to the overall success and profitability of the business.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in an internal sales, sales support, customer service or commercially focused administration role.
You will be:
Confident and professional when communicating with customers and suppliers. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. Comfortable managing multiple enquiries and orders at the same time. Commercially aware, with an understanding of pricing, margins and the importance of profitability. Confident using computerised systems, CRM platforms and finance systems. Proactive and able to take ownership of tasks from start to finish. A strong team player who is comfortable working across different departments. Customer-focused, with a genuine desire to provide an excellent level of service.Experience within shipping, offshore, marine, industrial supply or a similar commercial environment would be advantageous, although applications from candidates with relevant internal sales or customer service experience will also be considered.
What's on Offer?
Salary of £30,000 per annum. £6,000 OTE. Monday to Friday working hours of 7:00am - 4:00pm. 1 in 4 Saturday working pattern. The opportunity to join an established and expanding sales team.
