Internal Workshop Engineer

Position 1 Recruitment are working with an established engineering company in Norwich who are looking for an experienced Workshop Engineer to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

* Inspect incoming pumps and related machinery, identifying faults and determining the appropriate repair or replacement solution.

* Dismantle, inspect and overhaul pumps, carrying out mechanical repairs and fault-finding as required.

* Rebuild completed units and conduct operational testing to confirm they are performing safely and correctly.

* Produce, modify and restore mechanical components to meet engineering requirements.

* Carry out machining and fabrication tasks using equipment such as centre lathes, milling machines, pillar/bench drills, grinders and specialist drilling equipment.

* Work alongside the Workshop Manager to develop and produce components for repair and replacement projects.

Skills & Experience

* Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.

* Previous experience working with pumps, including dismantling, refurbishment, repair and fault diagnosis.

* Strong mechanical engineering, fitting and machining abilities.

* A basic understanding of electrical systems and testing procedures.

* Confident interpreting engineering drawings, measurements and technical specifications.

* Good IT skills with a sound level of numeracy.

* Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

* A hands-on, methodical approach with strong attention to quality and detail.
