Job Description - Inventory Manager FMCG

The Inventory Manager for FMCG at Minerva Research Labs is responsible for overseeing the company’s inventory management processes, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demands while minimising costs. This role involves managing the flow of products from suppliers through to end customers, maintaining accurate inventory records, and implementing best practices in inventory control.

The Inventory Manager will collaborate closely with supply chain, sales, and operations teams to forecast inventory needs, support promotional activities, and monitor stock performance. This position is pivotal to sustaining high service levels and achieving Minerva’s operational goals in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels across multiple locations, ensuring compliance with Minerva’s standards.
  • Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform regular stock audits and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast demand, plan stock replenishment, and assess suppliers’ performance.
  • Utilise inventory management systems (preferably SAP) to track stock movements and generate reports.
  • Support promotional activities and new product launches by coordinating inventory availability and logistics.
  • Identify opportunities for inventory optimization and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Train and mentor team members in inventory best practices and procedures.
  • Maintain communication with warehousing and distribution teams to ensure timely order fulfilment.
  • Assist in developing strategies for inventory management in alignment with overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory management, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
