Investment Banking Consumer Analyst

The team works closely with Jefferies’ Sponsors, Leveraged Finance, ECM, and DCM platforms and is actively involved in M&A, IPOs, follow‑ons, private placements, leveraged buyouts, and strategic advisory assignments. The Consumer franchise is a core growth area for the firm, with consistent deal flow across both public and private markets.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Consumer Investment Banking team. This role is ideal for candidates who want meaningful execution responsibility, direct exposure to senior bankers and clients, and a clear path of progression within a high‑performing coverage group.

The role offers a balanced blend of hands‑on technical execution and increasing ownership of analysts, workstreams, and processes, serving as a bridge between Analysts and Associates.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution

1. Play a central role in executing sell‑side and buy‑side M&A, capital markets, and private financing transactions
2. Build and review three‑statement financial models, LBOs, operating models, merger models, and valuation analyses
3. Prepare transaction materials including:
4. Pitch decks and strategic analyses
5. Confidential Information Memoranda (CIMs)
6. Management presentations
7. Board‑level materials

Deal & Process Management

1. Coordinate day‑to‑day execution alongside Associates and VPs
2. Act as a key point of contact for internal product partners (LevFin, ECM/DCM, Sponsors)
3. Review and quality‑control Analyst outputs, ensuring accuracy and messaging consistency
4. Support diligence processes, data room management, and advisor coordination

Client & Coverage Work

1. Support senior bankers in developing sector thought leadership, market updates, and client ideas
2. Gain exposure to management teams, sponsors, and institutional investors
3. Contribute to ongoing coverage of key Consumer clients and sponsor relationships

Candidate Profile

Required

1. Investment banking experience at the Analyst level (coverage or product)
2. Strong financial modeling and valuation skillset
3. High attention to detail coupled with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
4. Proven work ethic, judgment under pressure, and team-first mentality

Preferred

1. Experience in Consumer, Retail, or Sponsor‑driven transactions
2. Demonstrated progression and readiness to take on Associate‑level responsibility
3. Interest in building a long‑term career within investment banking
