Job Description - IP Brands Associate

An elite City law firm is seeking a talented Intellectual Property Associate (1+ PQE) to join their leading Brands team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established IP practice that acts for some of the most recognised UK and global brands.

The role offers a high level of client contact, early responsibility, and the chance to engage with cross-border work across a variety of industries including retail, fashion, media, tech, and consumer goods.

What You’ll Be Doing

Managing and advising on UK, EU and international trade mark portfolios
Handling clearance, filing, prosecution, oppositions, and enforcement matters
Advising on designs, copyright, brand strategy, and infringement issues
Working with a collaborative team of IP solicitors, trade mark attorneys, and paralegals
Contributing to client training, business development, and team-wide initiatives

About You

Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) or UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney with 1+ years' experience
Strong knowledge of soft IP law, including trade marks, designs, and copyright
Experience with UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO processes
A commercial mindset and confident communicator, comfortable advising brand owners and marketing teams
A team player with a proactive approach to client service and portfolio management
Language skills (especially French, German or Spanish) are a bonus, given the international client base
Those who do not tick every single box on here are still encouraged to apply if they have good soft IP experience.
