Job Description - IT Administrator

Role: IT Administrator

Location: DFYNE HQ, 1 Forrest Gate, Uddingston, G71 5PW

Work Location: Onsite

About You:

Do you love taking ownership of IT systems, networks and all the moving technical pieces that keep a business running? Are you the type of person who jumps straight into troubleshooting because solving problems is just what you do? Do you naturally organise, improve, and optimise everything you touch, as well as getting a real buzz from making systems more reliable, secure, and efficient? Are you the calm presence during outages, the steady hand during chaos, and the person people know they can rely on?

If you’re looking to be a core part of a team, have real impact, and work somewhere where your voice actually matters then DFYNE may be the perfect place for you.

About DFYNE:

A picture paints a thousand words… and we’re sure you don’t want to be sat here reading an essay of corporate “about us” spiel… Seriously, how’re you able to really get under the skin of what we’re about from a few words on screen. So why don’t you take a look and see what we’re all about for yourself www.dfyne.com

About the Role – DFYNE Your Career:

First off, it’s best I introduce myself (person behind the keyboard here), it’s not the norm on a job role spec, but I feel it’s important you get introduced to who you may be working with for a long time early on. I’m Oscar, the CEO & founder of DFYNE. I’m looking for someone who’s going to help me take DFYNE’s IT Administration to the next level.

As we grow, our IT is becoming more important than ever. We need someone who’s ready to take the lead on keeping everything running smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This isn’t a “follow the script” support role. It’s a position where you’ll have real ownership over our everyday IT and play a vital part in shaping how DFYNE operates every single day.

You’ll be the person keeping our systems, devices and users running smoothly - providing fast support, building and maintaining IT equipment, documenting how things work and constantly finding ways to make the whole operation better.

Generally keeping the technical heartbeat of DFYNE thriving.

If you love variety, responsibility, and the chance to actually make things better, then you will thrive here.

Attitude:

  • Trustworthy and dependable - you’re handling the backbone of the company
  • Proactive - always spotting ways to improve systems, processes, and performance
  • Calm under pressure - especially when something breaks or time is tight
  • Curious - always keen to learn, experiment, and look under the hood
  • Organised, reliable, and driven to do things properly

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls
  • Provide technical support and manage the ticketing system for staff and the wider network.
  • Build, configure and maintain all IT equipment and hardware
  • Document daily tasks, procedures and ongoing projects
  • Monitor system performance and ensure security through backups, updates and patches
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage IT-related procurement

Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Good communication across technical and nontechnical teams
  • Organisational and time-management skills
  • Willingness to adapt and grow in a fast-moving environment

At DFYNE You’ll:

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day IT operations that keep our team proactive and our systems reliable
  • Work with a supportive, passionate, and driven team
  • Grow alongside a company that’s scaling at speed

Experience Needed:

We don’t hire based only on experience but for this role a strong background in IT Administration or a similar role is desirable.

So, what’s in it for you?

If you’ve made it this far without being put off, brilliant, I’d love to hear from you. Besides a work family and a great place to work, you’ll have an opportunity to grow with the company, be a part of the journey, and have a vital input into helping continue the crazy growth we’ve already seen.

You’ll be part of a high challenge; high reward culture.

What will aid a successful application with DFYNE:
