This multi-academy trust has grown significantly over the last few years, with new schools joining the trust, as well as opening new build schools across the UK and now has a family of 40 schools. The trust has an excellent reputation for working closely with school leaders to focus on school improvement, whilst also having a strong central function which supports schools with all areas of support. A key area for the trust is the provision of IT to schools and, with a central IT structure, they are able to provide a high level of IT service to both staff and pupils on a daily basis, continually ensuring the best services are available to overall support teaching and learning. The central IT team consists of around 30 IT specialists who work collaboratively and support each other, with regular training allowing all to upskill and further develop.
Your new role
Due to an internal promotion, the trust has approached Hays seeking an IT Engineer to be based at one of their secondary schools in Walkden, Greater Manchester. Reporting to the Regional IT Manager, you will work closely with the Network Manager and other IT team members on site to provide a high level of IT support across the school and to all end users. This will involve providing support with both hardware and software, working with technologies bespoke to the education sector and also supporting the roll-out of IT projects, therefore allowing you to further develop your knowledge. The trust has a very forward-thinking approach to their infrastructure and technologies and therefore are regularly introducing new systems and technologies, so liaison with end users around the use of IT will also be a key part of the role.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must have significant 1st and 2nd line IT support experience, and will ideally have experience providing IT support in the education sector. You will have a passion for providing a high level of IT support, responding quickly to helpdesk queries and have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
