IT Infrastructure Manager - Birmingham
Fully on site work - Salary - £60,000 - £80,000
A leading client in Birmingham is seeking an IT Infrastructure Manager to manage and optimize the functionality of software, hardware, and networks. Resourcefulness is critical, as you will need to quickly identify and resolve issues. Effective communication with diverse interdisciplinary teams and users is also vital. Your goal is to ensure the seamless and efficient operation of our technology infrastructure. Additionally, you will participate in a Cloud transformation project, so familiarity with Cloud vendors and related tools is beneficial.
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
Proven experience in roles such as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar positions
Proficiency in databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management
Knowledge of system security, including intrusion detection systems, and expertise in data backup and recovery
Deploy and configure software and hardware systems
Manage network servers and technology tools
Handle cloud landing zones, user administration, and cloud compute services
Create accounts and set up workstations
Monitor system performance and conduct maintenance as needed
Ensure security through the implementation of access controls, backups, and firewalls
Perform system upgrades with new releases and models
Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
Maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Perl, or others
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills
