IT Operations Manager

The Role
Exciting opportunity to join a Newcastle based business as the IT Operations Manager. In this role you will oversee and maintain the organisation’s IT systems, servers, and network infrastructure. Lead implementation of new technologies aligned with strategic goals. Act as deputy for the Head of IT when required.
This is a hybrid role where you will be expected to travel across multiple sites. This is a role leading their infrastructure and network operations and does not have responsibility for the service desk, therefore someone must have experience leading and managing infrastructure.

Role Responsibilities
Leadership & Management

Operational Duties

• Develop IT infrastructure and policies in collaboration with the IT team.
• Advise on system upgrades and improvements.
• Lead and mentor the IT Operations Management Team, ensuring clear objectives and collaboration with the Service Delivery Team.
• Establish reporting structures for visibility across IT leadership.
• Ensure robust and tested business continuity plans.
• Contribute to budget planning with recommendations based on industry trends.
• Manage third-party suppliers to meet service level agreements.
• Review and enhance IT-related policies and procedures.
• Support team development through coaching and training.
• Provide IT support during major organisational events.
• Perform other duties as required.

Skills Required

• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Strong problem-solving under pressure.
• Clear communication and documentation skills.
• Self-motivated with proactive issue resolution.
• In-depth knowledge of IT hardware and systems.

Desirable:

• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Familiarity with IT ticketing systems.
• Understanding of IT security best practices.
