IT Security Engineer

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire (Hybrid: 2 days onsite / 3 days remote)

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a hands-on IT Security Engineer to join a newly formed team. You will operate, monitor, and improve cyber security controls across our infrastructure, cloud services, endpoints, identity platforms, networks, and business systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operations & Incident Response: Monitor security platforms, triage alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and support incident containment and remediation.

• Vulnerability Management: Run vulnerability scans across servers, endpoints, networks, and cloud services, prioritize exposure, and track remediation with technical teams.

• Platform, Endpoint & Network Security: Support secure configuration and hardening, patch assurance, firewall reviews, and network security controls.

• Identity & Cloud Security: Manage Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, privileged-access controls, and Microsoft cloud security.

• Email & Web Security: Monitor SPF, DKIM, DMARC, DNS, and web-security controls.

• Assurance: Support Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus activities and provide technical security input into projects.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience: Practical experience in IT/cyber security operations, infrastructure security, or a related technical role.

• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience investigating alerts, working with SIEM, endpoint security, vulnerability management, Windows endpoints/servers, networking, identity, and cloud-security fundamentals.

• Desirable: M365/Entra ID experience, CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or Microsoft security certifications.
