IT Solutions Architect- Defence

We are seeking a highly capable and security-cleared Solutions Architect to support the development of quarantine solutions for security vulnerabilities within Defence networks. This role is essential in enabling temporary business continuity while long-term remediation or replacement strategies are implemented. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and key partners to define, validate, and transform technical solutions into actionable projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and security constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and define quarantine solutions based on the customer’s existing architecture and requirements using Solutions Architecture methodologies.
• Lead the transformation of defined solutions into structured projects ahead of implementation.
• Collaborate with key enterprise partners to align on architectural goals and standards.
• Assess compliance with enterprise architecture standards and recommend improvements to internal tooling and processes.
• Lead or contribute to the creation of business cases for proposed solutions.
• Participate in agile scrums and iterative development processes where adopted.
• Propose and validate key technical solutions, and lead design reviews.
• Identify, document, and mitigate solution risks.
• Provide technical subject matter expertise on issues and opportunities.
• Capture and disseminate technical lessons learned, and lead the implementation of agreed improvements.

• Strong experience in Requirements Scoping & Development.
• Proficiency in Process Mapping of Applications and Technical Solution Design within security-constrained environments.
• Expertise in Architectural Design Documentation and enterprise-level solution planning.
• Deep understanding of the Information Systems Lifecycle, including acquisition and development of New & Emerging Technologies and Automation.
• Familiarity with industry infrastructure and operating standards, including:
• SQL
• DB2
• Active Directory (AD)
• Virtual Machines
• WebSphere
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and analytical thinking.
• Demonstrated Business Analysis and Project Management skills.
• Strong Stakeholder Management and communication abilities.

Security & Eligibility Requirements:

• Must hold current SC Clearance.
• Must be a British National due to the security classification of the role.
