IT Supplier Relationship Manager

We are proud to be exclusively partnering with The University of Manchester to recruit an IT Supplier Manager, supporting the continued growth & transformation of their Procurement & Supplier Services function. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading universities in a strategic supplier management role, helping to shape how the University partners with its IT suppliers to deliver high-impact services.

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Supplier Management, you'll be responsible for overseeing the performance and governance of suppliers across the University's IT portfolio. You'll play a central role in ensuring value for money, driving service improvements, and aligning supplier relationships with the University's digital and commercial goals.

This role goes beyond day-to-day contract compliance - you'll also contribute to strategic sourcing decisions, manage supplier risks, and advise stakeholders across IT Services and the wider University.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own supplier performance across the IT function using robust KPIs and SLAs
• Manage the full contract lifecycle from onboarding to renewal/exit
• Lead on supplier governance, dispute resolution, and service improvements
• Monitor third-party risk, drive value, and ensure compliance with contractual terms
• Work closely with stakeholders in IT Services and central Procurement

About You:

We're looking for a commercially minded supplier management professional who brings:

• Significant experience managing IT suppliers within a complex environment
• Expertise in contract and performance management
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Knowledge of third-party risk, cost modelling, and continuous improvement
• Familiarity with contract law, SLAs, and supplier benchmarking
• Desirable: CIPS, ITIL v3/v4, or PRINCE2 certification
