IT Support & Operations Specialist

IXL Learning, a US-based global edtech leader with products used by millions of students worldwide, is seeking an IT Support & Operations Specialist for MyTutor. MyTutor is the UK's leading online one-to-one tutoring platform, on a mission to improve education for everyone. IXL is a personalized learning platform used by 17 million students and 1 million teachers worldwide.  

In this role, you will provide timely, professional technical and operations support to the team in our vibrant London office on Old Street. Your enthusiasm, problem-solving skills, and tech-savviness will ensure seamless technical operations while keeping the office organised and welcoming. 

This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week in the office, with a schedule of Monday through Friday from 9am-1pm.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Provide high-touch technical assistance to our London office teams by resolving hardware, software, network, and account issues


• Efficiently research and resolve help desk support tickets involving hardware, software, and malware


• Assist in administering Google Workspace, Slack, VPNs, and MyTutor’s backend system


• Develop and maintain clear documentation for operational processes, training, and internal resources


• Be the face of IXL and MyTutor from our Old St office: Greet guests, handle incoming deliveries, and keep our day-to-day operations brilliantly organised


• Serve as the main UK point of contact for day-to-day business needs, coordinating cross-office operations and routing key documentation to US headquarters


• Lead onboardings for new hires with office tours, day-one desk setups, and welcome support


• Act as the primary contact for building management, assisting with facility needs, health and safety protocols, and fire drills


• Run ad-hoc business errands and assist with other general office operational duties as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree required


• Hands-on experience in an IT technical support or a technical customer-facing role 


• Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with a proven ability to research, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and everyday tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack)


• Energetic, dependable, and positive team player who thrives on setting colleagues up for success


• Exceptional organisational skills with a high attention to detail and a proactive approach to anticipating team needs


• Ability to prioritise daily tasks efficiently and work independently in an in-office environment


• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a welcoming, customer-focused approach
