Job Description: As an IT Support Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by working directly with our clients to maintain their IT infrastructure. You will be actively involved in enhancing their systems and providing proactive, cost-effective IT solutions. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you will interact with users and management with varying degrees of technical understanding.
Key Responsibilities: Client Site Visits: Travel to client sites to maintain servers, workstations, peripherals, networks, and records. Technical Support: Provide clear, understandable guidance and support to users and management. ️ System Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain workstations, peripherals (printers, scanners, projectors, cameras, etc.), servers, and necessary software. Network Management: Monitor network activity, perform routine network maintenance, and manage network devices (switches, hubs, routers). Security and Backup: Check, maintain, and test backup solutions and anti-virus software. User Account Management: Set up, maintain, and remove user network accounts as needed. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory, support requests, and company documentation related to client sites. Helpdesk Support: Resolve helpdesk calls when not on client visits. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest technologies to recommend beneficial advancements for the company and clients.
Qualifications: Education: 5 GCSEs Grade C or above (including Maths and English). Experience: Some exposure to dealing with IT problems is preferred but not required.

Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of Windows (7, 8, 10, 11) and servers (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) is desirable. Familiarity with network infrastructure and maintenance is a plus.
Other Requirements: Full UK driving licence and own transport (desirable). Prepared to travel between sites (mostly in Birmingham). Ability to clear a DBS check. An aptitude for self-directed learning.
Job Type: Full-Time Apprenticeship
Salary: Negotiable
