We’re looking for an experienced IT Systems Engineer to provide hands‑on support across our business while contributing to continuous improvement, automation and wider IT initiatives.
Principal Responsibilities
This is a role for the technically curious - someone with an appetite to learn, grow and apply new skills. You will be exposed to a broad and evolving technology stack, with the expectation that you develop your skills and apply them back into the role.
Support & Administration
Responsible for providing IT support across the business, acting as the first point of contact for all IT queries, issues and requests
Administer and maintain Microsoft 365, Entra and Intune across a fully remote team, covering identity, access, device management and compliance
Administer our SaaS application estate including user management, licensing and security
Execute user lifecycle processes including onboarding and offboarding
Embrace Artificial Intelligence
Embrace responsible AI as a core part of how you work - utilising AI to enhance your own workflows, reduce toil and deliver more effectively
Consider and contribute ideas on how AI could be applied across the team and wider organisation when solving problems
Stay on top of emerging developments and tooling, bringing relevant insights and recommendations to the team
Security & Compliance
Support the implementation and delivery of IT security controls, policies and compliance activities
Maintain accurate records of devices, software licenses and compliance activities.
Automation & Improvement
Contribute to the development of scripts, automations and integrations to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency
Proactively identify issues, risks and improvement opportunities - raising them with the team and, where required, leading the resolution
Maintain accurate documentation across systems, processes and configurations so that knowledge is shared.
General
Work with third-party vendors and suppliers to manage relationships, support escalations and procurement activity
Actively participate in IT projects and wider initiatives, taking ownership of work and seeing it through to completion
Represent IT positively across the business, building strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels
Requirements
Civiteq runs a fully SaaS-based environment centered on Microsoft 365 and a range of best-in-class software platforms. The organisation supports around 60 fully remote UK-based users, along with a similar number of Windows endpoint devices.
We’d be keen to hear from you if you have 3+ years experience in:
Administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint
Experience with Copilot, Microsoft Defender and Purview preferred
Administering Entra ID and Intune
Configuring, securing and supporting Windows systems
Supporting end users at L2+ level across a range of hardware and software issues, and familiarity with service management tools such as Freshservice.
Supporting a hybrid or fully remote user base
Administering and supporting SaaS applications, including access control, configuration, licensing and security.
A good working understanding of IT security principles and compliance – a ‘security first’ mindset and discipline to apply controls consistently.
Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload.
Desirable skills include:
Exposure to scripting in PowerShell and/or Python – even foundational experience with an appetite to develop further is welcome.
Experience working within an IT environment subject to ISO27001 and / or Cyber Essentials Plus requirements.
Relevant professional and/or technical memberships/certifications or actively working towards them.
Familiar with Agile ways of working.
Experience working in a professional services / consultancy environment

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience). We are committed to offering salaries that are fair, competitive and aligned to experience and capability.
This role is fully remote within the UK, but there will be a requirement to travel to client sites. We aim to balance flexibility with meaningful in‑person engagement.
