As Java Engineer in the Path-To-Live team, you’ll be embedded within a team responsible for a product and related services end to end. As well as designing, implementing, integrating and testing pipeline capabilities, you will be working closely with cross functional teams to ensure our services continually evolve to meet their needs. You will be at the forefront of bringing in new technologies and helping to change processes to support an agile value driven way of working

In this role you will:

• Work alongside a global team of engineers who build and operate several Java and cloud-native AWS solutions.
• Work with Product and Delivery to scope, prioritise and deploy new products and features to our internal Engineering consumers.
• Troubleshoot and support operational teams to ensure all IT controls are satisfied and systems can be maintained and recovered efficiently.
• Build and Support Dev-Ops, contributing to on call rotas to ensure adequate out of hours cover for your services
• Liias with HSBC service and problem management stakeholders to ensure all key technology controls (e.g. patching, disaster recovery) are maintained in good order and that systems are compliant with technology standards.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• SME in  building Java application, including extensive experience encompassing, Test driven development, Architecture and designs patterns
• In-depth knowledge of CI/CD, pipelines & Groovy
• Understanding of key ITIL & agile concepts and experience of operating services in compliance with IT Controls
• Strong understanding of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong experience and knowledge of key AWS cloud services  within a large enterprise environment
