We are seeking an experienced and passionate SENCO to join our vibrant primary school in Hillingdon. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school, ensuring the best possible outcomes for students with SEN.
- Collaborate with class teachers, teaching assistants, and external agencies to develop and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and assess the progress of students with SEN, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on effective teaching strategies and differentiation for SEN students.
- Lead and manage a team of SEN staff, providing training and professional development opportunities.
- Work closely with parents and carers to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s learning and well-being.
- Oversee the assessment and review process for SEN students, ensuring compliance with legal and statutory requirements.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and SENCO qualification (or working towards it).
- Experience as a SENCO or in a similar role within a primary school setting.
- A deep understanding of SEN policies, practices, and the statutory framework.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A compassionate and inclusive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
