About The Opportunity

The role involves managing your own client portfolio, from bookkeeping and VAT to year-end accounts and tax returns. While prior practice experience is ideal, candidates with solid bookkeeping experience from other backgrounds will also be considered. AAT Level 3 or 4 is a bonus, but not essential, and training contracts would be available to support your career goals and further training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns for a range of clients
• Reviewing monthly and annual client records for completeness and accuracy
• Preparing annual accounts and tax returns for companies and individuals
• Supporting clients with general financial queries and advice
• Collaborating with colleagues on client work and deadlines
• Ensuring compliance with tax and accounting regulations
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients and ensuring excellent service delivery

About You:

• AAT qualified or part- qualified or qualified by experience, further study support available for the right candidate
• Solid experience in preparing accounts and tax returns for both companies and individuals
• Good working knowledge of tax regulations and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting and bookkeeping software; familiarity with Xero is an advantage
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
• Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Good command of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
