Junior Automation Engineer - Security Cleared - Farnborough (Hybrid) - £42,000

A growing engineering team is looking for a Junior Automation Engineer to join them as part of an expanding project. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career across DevOps, cloud, on-premise infrastructure and automation, working within secure and technically complex environments.

You'll join a team of five, reporting to a Senior Technical Engineer, and work closely with experienced Architects and application SMEs to design, develop and commission automation solutions within an experimentation environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting the operation, development and implementation of automation across different hosting platforms.
Working with solution SMEs and maintenance teams on tasks requiring automation.
Supporting system integration and validation activities to ensure solutions meet functional, security and project requirements.
Contributing to technical documentation, including diagrams and operating procedures.
Keeping up to date with emerging automation technologies and industry best practice.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in automation and infrastructure, alongside a willingness to learn and develop.

Experience with some of the following would be highly beneficial:

Azure or another cloud platform
BASH, Python or PowerShell
Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible or Microsoft DSC
Git, CI/CD and version control
Linux, Kubernetes and containerisation
Container registries, web services and DNS
Windows Server and enterprise services such as Active Directory, ADFS, IIS or Certificate Services
Public Key Infrastructure and tools such as OpenSSL
Networking fundamentals including IP addressing, subnets, routing and firewalls

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the role, applicants are required to have active Security Clearance upon starting the role.
