A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Bookkeeper to join a dynamic and growing accountancy firm based in central Brighton. This is a great chance for someone at the start of their career in accountancy who is eager to develop their skills within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As a Junior Bookkeeper, you’ll work closely with a friendly and experienced team to support a varied client portfolio across a wide range of industries. This role offers hands-on exposure to day-to-day bookkeeping duties and the chance to learn and grow within a collaborative practice setting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing purchase and sales invoices

• Bank reconciliations

• Preparing and submitting VAT returns

• Maintaining accurate financial records for clients

• Supporting senior team members with ad hoc bookkeeping and administrative tasks

• Using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage

The Ideal Candidate

• Some previous experience in a bookkeeping or finance role (practice or industry)

• A basic understanding of bookkeeping principles

• Working towards or interested in studying AAT (or similar qualification)

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

• Confident communication and a willingness to learn

• A proactive approach and the ability to work well as part of a team
