Job Description - Junior Credit Underwriter

Vacancy\n\nJunior Credit Underwriter\n\nJohn Deere Financial, Langar\n\nThe Role:\n\nThe successful candidate will be part of a small, dynamic team. They will support the underwriting function by assessing SmartLine and regulated credit proposals in line with the Company\u2019s credit guidelines, policies, and procedures. They will also help keep the team\u2019s day-to-day operations running smoothly by responding to internal and external enquiries and ensuring that templates and workflow documents are kept up to date and well organised. The role includes providing a high level of support to dealers and internal partners, helping to maintain strong working relationships and consistent service delivery. Occasional customer and dealer visits may be required.\n\nMajor Duties:\n\n * Credit Evaluation: Assess requests for small unsecured revolving credit lines and regulated proposals. This includes completing clear affordability assessments and applying a basic understanding of financial statements\n * Decision-Making: Approve, decline, or make recommendations on unsecured and regulated proposals in line with company policies, procedures, and established risk appetite.\n * Document and Process Management: Maintain and update document templates, process guides, and internal workflow documentation. Track and follow up on system issues, backlog items, and support requests to help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.\n * Stocking / Floorplan: Provide monthly stocking reports and settlements to dealers, giving a clear overview of their current exposure.\n * Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with dealers, Area Sales Managers, and key stakeholders through regular video calls and occasional in-person meetings to drive collaboration and shared objectives.\n * Operational Assistance: Support dealers, customers, and internal teams with reschedules, and novations, ensuring information is handled accurately and efficiently.\n * Process \u0026 Project Involvement: Actively participate in process improvement initiatives and collaborate on international projects to enhance underwriting efficiency and cross-functional effectiveness.\n\n\n\nEducation:\n\nDegree in a Business/Management discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (3 years or equivalent)\n\nor\n\nDegree in an Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (3 years or equivalent)\n\nWork Experience \u0026 Skills:\n\n * Ability to follow a structured process\n * Basic understanding of finance products\n * Experience working in customer service or related customer-oriented environments.\n\n\n\nAs this is a Langar-based hybrid role the successful candidate will be expected to live within commuting distance of the branch at Langar.\n\nJohn Deere is an equal opportunities employer.
