Junior Estimator – Full-Time

£25,000 per annum
Monday – Friday, Office Based

We are working in partnership with a well-established and fast-growing company in the construction sector, and we’re now looking to recruit a Junior Estimator to join their friendly and supportive team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is numerically minded, confident in Excel, and eager to build a long-term career within estimating. Experience in this field is not required – full training will be provided. What matters most is your aptitude for learning, your attention to detail, and your interest in building a career in this area.

As a Junior Estimator, you'll be supporting the Lead Estimator and learning how to calculate the total cost of a construction project — from materials and labour to transport and equipment hire. You'll play a key part in helping the business secure new projects and hit key profitability targets.

Duties

• Learning how to prepare tenders for new projects
• Understanding client requirements and supporting quotation processes
• Reviewing CAD drawings and technical visuals (training provided)
• Requesting and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotes
• Supporting with bid submissions and cost proposals
• Researching materials, labour, and equipment costs
• Preparing budgets and labour profiles for successful tenders
• Supporting the team in reviewing and improving purchasing strategies

The Candidate

• Strong Excel and numerical skills
• A genuine interest in learning estimating and project costing
• Ability to understand visual drawings (CAD exposure beneficial, but not essential)
• Analytical thinker with a keen eye for detail
• Confident communicator – written and verbal
• Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to develop professionally
