Are you looking for a hands-on Engineer who enjoys getting out on the road, solving problems and working directly with customers?
Our client is looking for a Junior Field Service Engineer to join their growing UK service team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to get into mechanical/electrical engineering who wants to build their career in a varied, customer-facing field service role.
You’ll be visiting customer sites across the UK and Ireland, working on specialist equipment used. No two days will necessarily be the same, with a mixture of preventative maintenance, fault finding, installations, repairs and customer training.
What will you be doing?
As a Junior Field Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs. Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults. Installing, commissioning and setting up new equipment at customer sites. Providing customers with demonstrations and end-user training. Completing accurate service reports and documentation using an electronic job management system. Working closely with the internal Helpdesk and Customer Service teams to ensure customers receive excellent support. Building strong customer relationships and representing the business professionally on-site. Maintaining your company vehicle, tools, equipment and van stock. Taking part in ongoing technical training to continually develop your skills. Supporting team meetings, improvement projects and wider service initiatives. Identifying potential opportunities to support the wider commercial team where appropriate.What our client is looking for?
Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Good IT skills and confidence using electronic systems. A full UK driving licence. Flexibility to travel extensively throughout the UK including occasional overnight stays.Desirable experience
It would be great if you also have:
Previous experience within field service, maintenance, engineering or technical support. An engineering qualification such as HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Experience working to ISO standards or within an accredited service environment. Experience working with laboratory, scientific, medical or specialist technical equipment.What's in it for you?
