This role would ideally suit a graduate looking for their first role in the energy sector, or someone who has 1-2 years' industry experience looking for the next step in their career. The successful candidate will work as part of a project team based on-site in Aberdeen.
The successful candidate will work alongside the current team providing a key service to our energy supermajor clients, in addition to contributing to Swords growing SDO service line. The objective is to create a quality-controlled batch of well data which adheres to project requirement and client requests. Training and learning & development opportunities will be provided.
Requirements
Education:
University Degree, preferably in Geology/Petroleum Geology/Earth Sciences with a sound knowledge of Information Technology.
Essential Experience:
An awareness of subsurface (Geoscience & Engineering) data types and the complex nature of how the data is obtained, stored, integrated, applied, and managed across multiple business functions.
Desirable Experience:
A knowledge of wireline and MWD/LWD logging tools and their applications.
Cross-discipline knowledge within the subsurface domain (Geology, Petrophysics, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering, Wells etc.).
The ability to prioritise workloads, work to strict deadlines and follow workflows.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (in English).
A detail-orientated self-starter with the ability to solve technical problems.
Knowledge of data management, data clean-up, quality control and data loading.
Any experience working with commonly used software in the subsurface industry such as Petrel, Techlog, Geolog and Interactive Petrophysics, or relational databases.
