Junior Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and development of mechanical design concepts and drawings for construction projects.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design feasibility and project requirements are met.
• Conduct research and apply engineering principles to develop innovative and cost-effective mechanical systems.
• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, utilizing industry-standard design software.
• Support the review and modification of designs based on technical feedback and site requirements.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and design calculations.
• Participate in project meetings and assist with ensuring all designs adhere to safety standards and industry regulations.
• Assist in troubleshooting design issues during construction and provide engineering support on-site when necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles and UK construction industry standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey technical information.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and design methodologies.
• Understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements relevant to mechanical design in construction.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Salary £30,000 – £36,000.

• Hybrid working: 4 days in London office (Near Tottenham Court Road Station), 1 day WFH.
