Junior Mechanical Estimator

Junior Mechanical Estimator required for our client, they are a specialist HVAC services company in Berkshire that offer service, maintenance, design and installation of air conditioning systems to the commercial market. The Junior Mechanical Estimator will work alongside a more senior estimator and assist, in estimating the design and build projects, within various sectors including; offices, schools, apartments, health care etc. Values typically go up to £1.5m in value.

The Estimator will be office based, in Berkshire and will need to have a proven background preparing detailed cost pricing and estimates for mechanical packages / building services for commercial sites. The Mechanical Estimator will be required to assist, with the preparation of tenders / costings from specifications.

Junior Mechanical EstimatorPosition Overview

• Assist in preparing cost pricing & estimates for new projects up to circa £1.5m in value. For air conditioning projects
• Amendments or variations to existing contracts
• Analyse fully subcontract / supplier tenders for compliance to the specification and drawings
• Present tenders to Directors for review prior to final submission
• Attend handover meetings to contracting team on successful tenders

Junior Mechanical EstimatorPosition Requirements

• Previous experience in estimating design and build, mechanical projects (or experience assisting, alongside a senior estimator)
• Based within commutable distance of the office near Thatcham

Junior Mechanical EstimatorPosition Remuneration

• £40,000 - £50,000 Salary
• 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays) plus Christmas shutdown (3 or 4 days)
• Working hours 8:30am to 5:30pm
• Package discussed at interview
