Job Description - Junior Sales Executive Logistics and Freight

Junior Sales Executive – South East (Ipswich / Folkestone / Kent / Suffolk / Essex – Hybrid)

Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

(Hybrid working with regular client visits and occasional office collaboration)

£30,000 per annum + Uncapped Commission

People Solutions are looking for a Junior Sales Executive to work in logistics and freight for our client.

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Proactively identify and engage potential new business through cold calling, LinkedIn, and email outreach
  • Research and qualify leads across sectors within your territory
  • Book and attend meetings (in-person and online) with prospective clients
  • Promote Solstor’s temperature-controlled and ambient freight forwarding services
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, pipeline, and activity using CRM tools
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth client onboarding process
  • Work towards and exceed individual and team sales targets
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and promote repeat business

Essential Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a desire to succeed in sales
  • Organised and able to manage time and diary effectively
  • Confident making cold calls and building rapport quickly
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, email, internet research)

Desirable Skills:

  • 1–2 years of experience in sales, logistics, or customer service (not essential)
  • Experience working in a B2B sales environment
  • Understanding of freight forwarding or logistics processes
  • Full UK driving licence

Training:

  • Full onboarding and product training provided
  • Ongoing mentoring and development from senior team members
  • Sales process coaching and CRM system training
  • Opportunity to attend industry events and site visits to broaden knowledge
  • Clear pathway for progression within the sales team
