About the Opportunity:

This role is embedded directly within a landmark, multi-billion-pound UK nuclear power new-build project (Hinkley Point C). Generating 3.26GW of secure, low-carbon energy to power around 6 million homes, this landmark development represents one of the largest infrastructure undertakings in Europe.

As a Junior Surveyor, you will work closely with experienced Surveyors and the wider Survey Team Manager to support core field operations, data collection, and quality checks across the site. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious individual to build a career in engineering survey within a mega-project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Fieldwork & Survey Operations

Operational Support: Follow technical instructions from lead Surveyors to carry out a range of classic surveying operations across the site.

Instrumentation: Operate specialized survey equipment on-site, including Leica Total Stations, digital levels, 3D laser scanners, and GPS units (rover and static).

Quality Assurance & Reporting

Quality Verification: Conduct fundamental quality checks to verify that all field survey activities align strictly with project schedules, accuracy requirements, and quality standards.

Documentation: Review and apply relevant technical specifications and project documentation; assist in drafting surveillance reports and technical records for approval by the Survey Team Manager.

Data Processing: Assist in basic survey data processing, reduction, and initial quality checks following field measurements.

Candidate Profile:

Requirements & Experience

Survey Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of core surveying techniques, measurement principles, and basic data processing.

Equipment Experience: Practical experience or familiarity using key survey instruments (ideally Leica equipment, Total Stations, Digital Levels, Scanners, or GPS).

Industry Background: Previous exposure to a large industrial, construction, or major project environment is advantageous.

Vetting Capability: Able to obtain UK background vetting and security clearance.

Precision & Accuracy: Detail-orientated approach with a strong focus on technical accuracy and results delivery.

Adaptability & Resilience: Flexible, well-organised, and able to prioritise tasks effectively while maintaining composure under pressure.

Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills with a diplomatic, team-focused approach to working alongside engineers, site teams, and line managers
