Junior Systems Engineer – Electronics Manufacturing

We are recruiting for a Junior Systems Engineer to join a well-established electronics manufacturing business in Newbridge.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in electronics/PCB manufacturing, CAD/Gerber, engineering or manufacturing systems who is looking to develop their career within a technical production environment.

The Role

Working within the AI Systems Engineering team, you will support the generation and amendment of manufacturing machine programs, alongside NPI activity, engineering changes, production documentation and shop-floor support.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Using customer drawings, CAD, Gerber, component data and BOMs

* Creating and amending manufacturing programs using Factory Logix

* Generating Auto Insert and serialisation programs

* Creating Laser, Etch, DEK, MY700 and SPI programs

* Creating AOI CAD files and Axial/Radial programs

* Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and first-off verification

* Implementing and controlling ECNs and build deviations

* Component recognition, investigation and data generation

* Producing process-flow, build and working documentation

* Supporting production and resolving technical issues on the shop floor

* Supporting solder-paste stencil requirements, ordering and verification

What We're Looking For

Essential:

* Experience or knowledge of CAD/Gerber software

* Ability to read and interpret technical information

* Good Microsoft Office skills

* Strong written and verbal communication

* Good organisational and problem-solving skills

* Knowledge of Auto Insert manufacturing

* Understanding of electronic engineering/PCB manufacturing

* Engineering change experience

* Knowledge of solder-paste stencils

Experience of SMT components, PCB assembly, manufacturing software or Auto Insert machine programming would be advantageous.

This would suit someone looking to develop within electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, NPI or manufacturing systems engineering, with the opportunity to build specialist programming and production-engineering knowledge.
