Welder / Fabricator is required in Cardiff / Vale of Glamorgan for our client.

Our client is a well-established manufacturing business with around 70 years of experience, specialising in the manufacture of doors. They are looking for either an experienced Welder / Fabricator or a graduate/junior candidate with practical welding and fabrication experience to join their production team.

This is a hands-on opportunity where the successful candidate will initially work on the tools within the factory, gaining a strong understanding of the company's products and manufacturing processes. There is genuine long-term progression available for the right individual, with the potential to develop into a Production Management role and eventually progress into more senior management positions.

Welder / Fabricator Job Overview

Work hands-on within the production and fabrication team
Carry out MIG and TIG welding as required
Fabricate and assemble components for manufactured door products
Support the wider production operation and work as part of a team
Learn the company's products, manufacturing processes and equipment
Develop a broad understanding of the production operation
Take on increasing responsibility as experience and knowledge develop
Work towards potential progression into Production Management and senior positionsWelder / Fabricator Job Requirements

Previous welding and/or fabrication experience is essential
MIG and TIG welding experience is desirable
Open to experienced Welder / Fabricators or graduates/junior candidates with practical welding/fabrication experience
Practical, hands-on approach with a genuine interest in manufacturing
Reliable, hardworking and keen to develop a long-term career
Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibility
Must live within approximately 10 miles of the company's Cardiff-area facilityWelder / Fabricator Salary & Benefits

Salary: £16.00 - £20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Experienced candidates: approximately £19.00 - £20.00 per hour
Less experienced candidates: approximately £16.00 - £18.00 per hour

Working hours: 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 - 15:30 Friday
37.8 hours per week
15-minute and 30-minute breaks
