Junior MET Technician / MET Technician
Monday–Friday 745am – 430pm – NO Weekends
Location: Croydon | Salary: £35,000–£45,000 DOE
Are you an aspiring or experienced MET Technician looking for your next opportunity in a well-equipped, independent specialist workshop?
We’re working on behalf of our client, an independent specialist workshop in Croydon, who is looking to recruit a Junior MET Technician / MET Technician to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an MET or automotive technician background who enjoys hands-on work and wants to develop their skills in a specialist workshop environment.
Importantly, this is not a bodyshop role. You’ll be working on vehicle preparation and supporting the vehicle technicians, carrying out a varied range of mechanical, electrical and trim-related tasks.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
* Stripping and fitting vehicle components.
* Carrying out suspension work and basic mechanical repairs.
* Removing and refitting interior and exterior trims.
* Supporting vehicle preparation ahead of technician work.
* Assisting with geometry and wheel alignment-related tasks.
* Working with ADAS systems and related components.
* Ensuring vehicles are prepared to a high standard and ready for the next stage of work.
About You
We’re keen to hear from candidates with either a Junior MET or general automotive technician background looking for a change.
You’ll ideally have:
* Previous experience in an MET, mechanical or automotive technician role.
* Good practical skills and confidence working on vehicles.
* A methodical approach and a strong eye for detail.
* A willingness to learn, develop and expand your technical skill set.
* A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Candidates with the right attitude and a solid automotive foundation are encouraged to apply.
What's on Offer?
* Salary of £35,000–£45,000, depending on experience.
* Monday to Friday working hours, 7:45am–4:30pm.
* No weekend working as part of the standard schedule.
* 20 days’ annual holiday, plus bank holidays.
