A Day in the Life and the Impact You'll Make
As a Key Account Manager – Automotive, you'll build and develop strong relationships with key automotive customers, helping them improve vehicle uptime and fleet performance while ensuring they receive a first-class service from the brand and dealer network. Working closely with customers, dealers and internal teams, you'll analyse performance, identify trends, coordinate solutions and drive improvement initiatives that deliver a better customer experience.
What You'll Do
• Act as the lead point of contact for your assigned key accounts, building strong and lasting customer relationships.• Support customers with in-life service, technical and operational queries, coordinating remedial actions and support programmes.• Monitor fleet performance, identify trends and develop action plans to improve vehicle uptime and customer satisfaction.• Work closely with dealers and repair partners, ensuring agreed SLAs are met and investigating areas of non-compliance.• Arrange and facilitate meetings between customers, dealers and repair agents to resolve operational challenges.• Produce high-quality customer visit reports and manage account projects, ensuring they are delivered to time and within budget.• Produce and present monthly and quarterly performance reports for assigned accounts.• Manage an agreed commercial support budget.• Work collaboratively with internal teams including Parts, Sales, Quality, Engineering and dealer partners.• Identify opportunities to improve processes, service standards, efficiency and profitability.
What You'll Bring
• Proven experience as an Aftersales Account Manager, Key Account Manager or similar role within the automotive industry.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive partnerships and influence stakeholders at all levels.• Strong business planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.• Excellent analytical ability, with the confidence to interrogate data, identify trends and drive appropriate actions.• Experience delivering client-focused solutions that support customer needs.• Ability to manage multiple account management projects while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.• Commercially aware, motivated and adaptable, with a strong drive to succeed.• Good technical knowledge of commercial vehicles.• Strong presentation and IT skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.• Full clean UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
The Role
This is a field-based UK-wide position, with approximately 40–50% of your time spent with dealers or customers.
The role will involve regular travel, with occasional overnight stays required.
You'll work closely with customers, dealer partners and colleagues across the wider DEKRA Automotive business to deliver a consistently high standard of service and support.
