Job Description - Key Customer Account Handler

Are you customer service orientated with a sharp eye for detail? If so, we are on the lookout for a proactive and organised Key Customer Account Handler to join our client’s dynamic team. In this fast-paced role, you’ll be the vital link between customers and operations—ensuring smooth vehicle and driver coordination whilst delivering top-tier service.

Salary & Perks:

  • Annual Salary: £28,371.20 (£13.64/hour, overtime at £14.64/hour)
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Holidays: 28 days per annum – incudes BH
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible between 8am – 5pm (1 hour lunch)
  • Onsite free parking

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with customers, tailoring solutions to meet their needs.
  • Issue clear instructions to drivers and monitor vehicle movements to minimise delays.
  • Support the Customer Services team with queries and updates.
  • Conduct daily briefings and debriefings with drivers.
  • Maintain and optimise the Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Track and report on customer KPIs and ensure compliance with driver legislation.
  • Coordinate with fleet maintenance for vehicle servicing and MOTs.
  • Resolve client queries quickly and professionally.
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks: bookings, assigning drivers/vehicles, ETA checks, and delivery coordination.
  • Manage paperwork: scan, transfer paperwork to customers.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in transport coordination or a similar role would be ideal but not essential.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both customers and internal teams.
  • Confident using IT systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and stay calm under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with top-notch organisational skills.
