What You Will Be Doing

As a Kitchen Assistant, your duties will include:

Assisting with food preparation and serving
Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties
Preparing ingredients and food items as required
Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Assisting with school meal service
Following food safety, health and safety procedures
Ensuring food is stored, prepared and handled safely
Working effectively as part of the wider catering team

Requirements

To be considered for this Kitchen Assistant role, you will need:

Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or food service environment is desirable
Enhanced DBS – required
2 references – required
Food Safety Level 2 Certificate – required or willingness to obtain
Food Allergen Certificate – required or willingness to obtain
Good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling
Excellent reliability and timekeeping
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Good communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a busy school environment
Professional and responsible approach when working within a school
