Job Description - Kitchen Porter

Do you have the drive, determination, and pride in your work to help keep our training facilities up to the high standards required? We are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill this part-time position of Kitchen Porter within the Hospitality and Catering department.
The department is centered around state-of-the-art professional catering kitchens and the on-site restaurant, both of which support the delivery and assessment of a range of Professional Cookery courses from Initial Skills in Catering & Hospitality through to our Level Three Advanced Professional Cookery programme.
We are looking to recruit a member of staff to support our Technicians, Chef-Lecturers, and Practical Instructors with the maintenance of these areas, adherence to Department and Environmental Health cleaning protocols and health & hygiene processes and procedures, washing up of equipment, waste disposal, and taking receipt and unpacking of deliveries as necessary.
You must have a flexible approach to work, be able to work independently and within our small team, be passionate about cleaning and food hygiene, and be able to organize and prioritize tasks. Ideally, you should have previous experience in this role, ideally in a kitchen environment. We are a college of FE and HE learning, and so a wide range of students utilize the facilities to learn and develop practical skills for working within the industry.
Applicants must be able to commit to a mix of afternoon and early evening working.

We are graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted following its latest inspection in January 2023. Inspectors rated the College as Good in all 8 aspects. The report recognizes that students “enjoy their courses and are motivated to succeed” and benefit from “highly supportive relationships” with staff.

This role is employed through Nescot Enterprises Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nescot which operates under different terms and conditions.
