KS2 Teaching Assistant & Behaviour Mentor - Year 6 Focus (Aspiring Teachers Welcome!) ?

An outstanding and supportive school in Harrow, close to Kenton, is looking for a motivated, empathetic, and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a dynamic Year 6 class. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to train as a teacher in the future and wants to build hands-on experience in behaviour management, classroom practice, and intervention support.

The Role - TA & Behaviour Mentor (Year 6)

This exciting role combines general Year 6 classroom support with targeted behaviour mentoring for pupils needing extra guidance, particularly as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.

You'll be:

  • Supporting individuals and small groups with learning and behaviour strategies

  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team

  • Implementing behaviour plans and promoting emotional literacy through daily interventions

  • Helping pupils manage challenges and grow in confidence

The Ideal Candidate
  • A calm, compassionate, and enthusiastic TA or aspiring teacher

  • Experience working with KS2-aged children, particularly those with SEMH or behaviour needs

  • Understanding of positive behaviour management and trauma-informed practice

  • A team player with excellent communication and emotional intelligence
