We’re seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead a busy analytical team in Newcastle. This role is central to delivering high‑quality asbestos testing, environmental analysis, and driving innovation.

What You’ll Do

*

Manage and inspire a team of 10+ laboratory staff

*

Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and UKAS standards

*

Oversee workflow, sample preparation, and analytical procedures

*

Deliver accurate results on time to meet client expectations

*

Drive improvements in performance, customer service, and technical capability

What We’re Looking For

*

5+ years’ experience in asbestos testing or chemistry labs

*

Proven leadership managing teams of 10+ staff

*

Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 and quality systems

*

Experience with UKAS audits and accreditation processes

*

Budget and resource management expertise

Desirable: RSPH Level 4 Certificate and experience developing new laboratory methods
