Laboratory Supervisor - Genetic Toxicology

At our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire we are looking to recruit a Laboratory Supervisor to join our expanding Screening laboratory within the Genetic Toxicology department.

As a Supervisor at Labcorp you will be responsible for a team of technicians undertaking specific tasks in support of Genetic Toxicology studies along with carrying out technician duties in the laboratory yourself.

Duties include:

• Providing supervisory and operational support necessary for the preparation and conduct of studies carried out within Genetic Toxicology
• Direct responsibility for all staff working in the operational/support group/section assigned to.
• Training and support of team members to achieve work deadlines and personal development goals
• Accountability for overall accuracy, soundness, quality, timeliness and completeness of all work performed in the area of responsibility
• Responsibility for scheduling; allocating resources within the operational/support group/section; overall responsibility for training and supervision of all operational/scientific/support staff
• Responsibility for study data, raw data integrity, and may include equipment metrology and functionality (where applicable)

Education:

• Degree in relevant scientific field preferred. Experience may be substituted for education

Experience:

• Supervisory experience within a laboratory, preferably working to regulatory standards such as GLP
• Previous experience of staff management including development and training
• Genetic Toxicology knowledge and/or experience is advantageous
• Aseptic techniques and cell culture experience desirable
• Excellent organisational and time management skills paired with attention to detail
