Laboratory Technician

We are working with a gorwing Biotech in Oxford, and we are seeking a proactive and highly organised Laboratory Technician to join their Research & Development team. This role is crucial in maintaining the functionality, compliance, and efficiency of their laboratory operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring their lab remains a well-managed environment, adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Laboratory Operations

• Maintain a clean, organised, and fully stocked laboratory environment.
• Monitor and order general lab supplies, gases, reagents, and consumables.
• Coordinate waste collection and lab coat laundering.
• Optimise storage and stock organisation.

Equipment Maintenance

• Schedule and perform internal and external equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Manage repairs and replacements of faulty equipment.
• Support equipment selection, purchasing, installation, and documentation.
• Maintain and update Equipment Operating Procedures (EOPs).
• Manage service contracts as needed.

Goods Inwards Process

• Receive, inspect, and quarantine incoming goods.
• Handle rejections, returns, or disposals as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain procedures and specifications for incoming materials.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as the main point of contact for lab-related queries and external contractors.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers to ensure value for money.

Compliance and Support

• Uphold quality and health & safety standards in the lab.
• Assist with the Goods Outwards process and document management systems as required.

• Prior experience in a laboratory environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Proactive, adaptable, and quality-focused.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
