Laboratory Technician

We're looking for a Laboratory Technician to join a busy laboratory team, carrying out routine sample preparation and analysis while supporting the wider team with day-to-day laboratory activities.

The role will involve:

Preparing and weighing samples for analysis
Carrying out analysis using HPLC, GC and Ion Chromatography
Using balances and standard laboratory equipment
Carrying out routine laboratory tasks and basic equipment maintenance
Recording data and tracking samples using laboratory IT systems
Performing calculations and ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed turnaround times
Working to ISO 17025:2017 and company quality procedures
Maintaining good housekeeping and high Health & Safety standards

About you:

Practical laboratory skills or experience working in a laboratory environment
Good attention to detail, numeracy and computer literacy
Strong manual dexterity and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Good judgement and problem-solving skills
A team-focused approach and good communication skills
An HNC/HND, BTEC, NVQ or equivalent scientific qualification would be advantageous

Experience within an industrial laboratory and knowledge of ISO 17025 would be useful, but full training will be provided, so these are not essential.
